Cultivating a local community of climate change action participants

The United Nations, an intergovernmental organization tackling sustainable development goals, promotes climate change action as one of its categories. It has a sustainable development knowledge platform by providing collective information that could encourage people to go on practices to take action.

During the time with my fellow students in Creative Sustainability course, a theme of climate change started to emerge: information about climate change has to connect a person's life. While our conversations concentrated on separate indexes for the environment and a lifestyle, I realized the opportunity to fill the gap between a large level of indexes to personalized information.

"I know an environmental issue of climate change. But I don't really know where I can start to act."

"I feel climate change is far away from my life. It is a too big issue to deal with a person."

Visualizing climate change information

I draw a vision for information about climate change that focused on making data usable for an individual. This approach faces the factors behind information to make numbers personalize and customize.

THREE KEY REQUIREMENTS

1) Education: Give personalized knowledge to motivate to learn

2) Sharing: Provide the latest relevant news given belongings to the same community

3) Co-creation: Offer a platform to share their actions locally and globally  â€‹

Climate change information for everyone

Extensive research and interviews, UX design tasks emerge with understanding needs what is missing in existing platforms and then identifying tasks and developing designs through iterative wireframes and prototypes. I streamline UX tasks to emphasis on relativity between climate change data and personal life and share the best practices.
